8 99 RUNNINGS, ONLY ONE W.S. COX PLATE 3. WINX 2017 In three of her four Cox Plate wins she won with ease. It was the third of her four wins though where she was challenged, which was the most memorable, as for a fleeting second it looked as if she might be beaten. In the 2017 Cox Plate, her jockey Hugh Bowman treated her rivals with contempt, as he was happy to sit wide knowing that she was the best horse in the race and that she had her opponents covered. That looked to be going to plan, and another easy Cox Plate win looked on the cards when she cruised away from her rivals when she took the lead on the turn. The crowd started to ramp up its clapping, but that stopped quickly when Humidor emerged from the pack and quickly charged up to her. A hush enveloped the course though, as for a brief second it looked like Humidor was going to get past her, but that turned into cheers when she fended him off to win.
