On Track - Spring 2020 Edition

27 MASTER PLAN UPDATE THE VALLEY OF TOMORROW TOTE PARK The new 5,000m2 civic park is remarkably taking shape with final delivery in early November. Tote Park is one of the cornerstones of the vision for Moonee Valley Park, a new neighbourhood set within a grand botanical park. Tote Park will include the planting of 67 new mature trees, 315 shrubs, and around 4,000 groundcover plants. Tote Park has been meticulously designed by Tract Landscape Architects and will feature open grassy lawns with serpentine gardens, a nature-inspired playground for families, and stunning flower beds, where visitors can relax in the sun or the shade, unwind and get active. Works are also well underway on the life-size Winx Statue, which will take pride of place as one of the centrepieces of the new Tote Park. Acclaimed Melbourne sculptor Louis Laumen has immortalised many Australian sporting greats and he is the most appropriate person to commemorate Winx in bronze. The MVRC is thrilled to see delivery activity now happening on-site after an extensive masterplan process. The Development Agreement, which was entered into in 2017 with Australia’s leading superannuation fund Hostplus and developer Hamton, is now becoming a reality for the MVRC. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity over the next 15 years will deliver a new world-class racing facility that is supported by an amazing residential, retail, commercial, and lifestyle precinct. We are excited to now see progress on delivering the vision of transforming the 98 acre Valley Racecourse site. Tote Park taking shape An artist’s impression of Tote – Bar & Dining
