ON TRACK MAGAZINE 35 The 2018 Ladbrokes Cox Plate may have some star power on the track with super mare Winx out to create history by winning a fourth Cox Plate, however she will be matched off the track with the announcement that Ashleigh Brewer will be the MVRC’s 2018 Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival Ambassador. Ashleigh made her television debut at the age of 12 when she joined the popular Australian children’s series The Sleepover Club, while many would remember Ashleigh in her role as ‘Kate Ramsay’ in the long-running Australian soap opera, Neighbours, for which she was nominated for a Logie Award for Most Popular New Female Talent in 2010. Ashleigh then moved to Los Angeles to further her career on the world stage and broke through in her starring role as ‘Ivy Forrester’ in the popular American soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. After leaving The Bold and the Beautiful recently, Ashleigh returned to Australia and now graces our screens every night on Seven’s long running television series, Home & Away. Later in the year she will be seen opposite Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and Fifty Shades of Grey heartthrob Jamie Dornan in the HBO telefeature My Dinner with Herve. Ashleigh has grown up around horses and has a genuine passion for our equine athletes. A regular attendee at Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival, Ashleigh was thrilled to be told she would be taking on the role of our 2018 Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival Ambassador and we can’t wait to have her trackside at The Valley for all of our carnival events and the two- day Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival on October 26-27.
