Racing Australia Annual Report 2017

Racing Australia Annual Report 2017 | 17 (iv) Trainer and Owner Reforms (TOR) website With the introduction of the Trainer and Owner Reforms on 1 August 2017, Racing Australia built a website which is the central national source of all information regarding the Trainer and Owner Reforms inclusive of the Forms, Agreements, Q&A and other information for Owner and Trainers. Consistent with Racing Australia’s structure a TOR Working Group with representation from each PRA was established to plan for and lead the implementation and commencement of the TOR Reforms. (v) Racebooks and Newspaper Form Guides Racing Australia continues to deliver in excess of 1,300 on course race books annually, ranging in size from 36–200 pages. This complete end to end pre-press service which incorporates the complete preparation and print ready compilation of the race book has continued to benefit from ongoing innovation as well as content and layout improvements in an environment where printed publications have remained static in the last 12 months. The service continues to provide a comprehensive range of race book layouts and sizes which ensure race clubs are able to select and customise a style of race book specific to that club’s requirements and size of race meeting. In addition Racing Australia continues to provide a diverse range of print ready newspaper form guides. Racing Australia’s ongoing delivery and innovation of this service continues to be driven by ensuring the Thoroughbred racing industry delivers low cost, high quality and flexible publications which promote the industry and encourage wagering turnover. 3. SINGLE NATIONAL SYSTEM Throughout the year Racing Australia has continued to invest heavily in building out the Single National System. With the ever evolving business needs of the Thoroughbred industry nationally the scope of the Single National System has continued to evolve and expand with elements reprioritised based upon the requirements of the industry. Throughout the year significant advances were made with empowering and providing participants with the ability to complete transactions without the need to complete paper forms. Full online functionality empowering participants to complete transactions online were progressively rolled out during the year. To help guide the project on a national basis and to enable an environment in which further opportunities to maximise the Single National System are identified, reviewed and a strategy determined, a Single National System Steering Group comprised of representatives from Racing Australia and each Principal Racing Authority has been formed.
