Dear Breeder,
I am writing to tell you about an exciting new initiative between Thoroughbred Breeders Australia, Racing Australia and Godolphin which is being launched today.
The Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards is a scheme that will recognise and reward the workers whose skill, dedication and professionalism underpin the racing and breeding industries.
The awards are open to all staff employed in racing and breeding across Australia, with Godolphin very generously providing $100,000 in prizes. There are six different categories, encompassing all aspects of the Thoroughbred industry; from those who have demonstrated a supreme commitment to racing, breeding, horsemanship and welfare, as well awards for those in administration and people in a leadership role.
Each category winner will receive a trophy and $10,000, while their employer will also receive $2000 to share amongst other staff. Two runners-up for each award will also receive $500. From the winners of the five stud and stable categories an overall Thoroughbred Excellence Award will be given out, with the recipient to be given an additional $5000. The overall winner’s yard or stud will also receive an additional $4000.
I hope you will get behind these awards and nominate those people who are deserving of this recognition. Similar awards have been running in the United Kingdom for more than a decade where they are a prestigious and important event on the racing and breeding calendar, as I’m sure they will become here.
An entry form for the awards can be found on the Racing Australia website:

A panel of senior figures from racing and breeding, including Thoroughbred Breeders Australia President Basil Nolan, broadcaster Carolyn Searcy and trainer Ron Quinton will choose the winners ahead of the awards ceremony on November 24. Entries must be received by September 28.
I look forward to your support in making these awards an important occasion for our industry.
Kind regards,
Tom Reilly
