CLOAK ROOM Located in the General Office. FIRST AID Located at the rear of the Poplar Lawn, adjacent to the Day Stalls. DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS Patrons can only smoke at the ‘designated smoking area’ shown on the below map. Also, for the comfort of guests, we ask that patrons please do not move tables fromtheir designated locations within the bar and dining areas. Laid inwards under pressure in the straight. BDGO 01/11/2023 Race 4 GHAIYYATH FIRST YEARLINGS HANDICAP 1400m Rockola Rdr reported he was instructed to ride his mnt in a more forward position, however shortly after the start it was crowded and as a consequence lost ground which resulted in it settling further back than had been intended. Had some difficult obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. KENS 01/11/2023 Tsarism Briefly held up rounding the home turn. GOSF 02/11/2023 Chilly Charlie COT: Intention to be ridden further forward; settled off pace. Stwds inquired into circumstances surrounding the gelding being checked shortly after straightening. After taking evidence from relevant rdrs & viewing Stwds’ patrol films, it was established rounding home turn the gelding was held up. It was further established on straightening the gelding was checked when disappointed for a run. In taking no direct action against any rdr, Stwds were satisfied the gelding had not established a run. NCLE 04/11/2023 Duke Of Lancaster Slow to begin and, shortly after, was crowded for room. Shifted behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages. K GR 28/10/2023 Joey D’or Over the concluding stages laid in under pressure and brushed another rnr. K GR 07/11/2023 Lasqueti Boom Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 200m improved on to heels and had to be shifted in to continue into clear running. K GR 28/10/2023 Bedtime (NZ) Was held up rounding the home turn and for some distance near the 300m was restrained when awkwardly positioned on the heels of rnrwhich was shifted out. 13 Race 5 KIA ORA PRAGUE PLATE 1200m Vella Magic Over-raced in the middle stages. Passing the 700m was restrained when tightened between rnrs. CANB 07/11/2023 Afterlight Rdr permitted to ride 0.5kg over allocated weight. Rdr std instructed to ride in prominent position, but after beginning only fairly & receiving some minor crowding at start, mnt did not show any early speed & settled at rear. Std when being steadied to obtain cover in early stages his mnt got its head up & raced ungenerously & gave the impression it resented the Norton bit, which had been reapplied to its gear. Std near the 1000m, he elected to improve forward to race with cover but his mnt was then forced to work hard three wide without cover round h/ turn. A post-race vet exam rev no abs. RHIL 04/11/2023 Silent Raindrops Slow to begin. GOSF 02/11/2023 Deceive Rdr reported that the mare commenced to hang out from the 500m and then continued to lay out under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. WYNG 11/11/2023 Lady Kah Began awkwardly. Laid out over the final 200 metres. Rdr reported, in her opinion, the filly did not appreciate racing amongst rnrs and may have come to the end of its prep. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs. Co-tnr agreed with the view of the rdr and confirmed the filly will now be spelled. Co-tnr added the stable may experiment with blinkers, given the rdrs feedback was that the filly was field shy. K GR 19/11/2022 Shiffrin Held up for clear running from the 250m until the winning post and was unable to be fully tested at any stage in the home straight. When qst, rdr std no instructions given, but from wide barrier if mnt began well intention was to settle in prominent position. Std after beginning fairly she rode mnt neutral & settled off midfield. Std through mid stages when trailing a rnr, she had anticipated shifting outwards to improve, but mnt had a tendency to lay in so shifted in to a position on rail nearing the home turn. Added when rounding home turn she tried to shift out from behind heels but was prevented from doing so & consequently was held up & unable to fully test mnt until near the 100m. Approaching the 1000m commenced to race fiercely when being restrained from heels. Lost its off-fore plate during running. RAND 07/11/2023 Dawn Issue Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. 14 Stewards Report Zenmaster When questioned re improved performance, tnr stated at the gelding’s first race start it raced over an unsuitable distance, and at the gelding’s second start it received significant interference near the 100m and should have finished closer on that occasion. He further added the gelding was well suited in stepping up in distance with a more moderate tempo, whereby it was able to dictate the speed when settling outside the leader. CANT 21/06/2023 Atlantic Ocean Rdr reported his mnt travelled well in a midfield position in the early and middle stages, however it was one-paced when placed under pressure in the straight and in his opinion it may be suited with blinkers being reapplied to its race gear. A postrace vet exam revealed no abnormalities. RHIL 15/11/2023 Let’s Go Bro Raced keenly in the early stages. NCLE 14/10/2023 Beauty Rising Raced keenly in the early stages FLEM 24/09/2023 Dubai Centre Shortly after the start was crowded for room. W FM 19/04/2023 Hard Pick Rdr reported the gelding travelled well throughout the early & middle stages, however when placed under pressure in straight it raced flat & failed to finish its race off. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs. Tnr subsequently reported he was satisfied with the post-race condition of the gelding. NCLE 04/11/2023 Head Of The Herd Rdr std he was able to obtain lead in early stages as anticipated, however his mnt then did not appreciate being pressured through the middle stages & as a consequence raced greenly through this section of race. Std mnt then did not respond to his riding in straight & he recommended to connections to apply blinkers to the colt at its next race start. A post-race vet exam did not reveal any abs. 18 EMERGENCy pRoCEdUREs The Australian Turf Club’s aim is to provide the best facilities to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment. The Club has developed comprehensive procedures to deal with any unexpected emergency situation that may arise. Our staff are trained and experienced in dealing with emergencies and evacuations. They are dressed in ATC uniforms at various points throughout the racecourse. Assisting in an emergency will also be security staff and Police officers. Unless you are instructed otherwise, the Emergency Assembly Areas are located on the map below: In the event of an emergency, please remember: (1) Follow the directions of the Emergency Wardens; (2) Move quickly and quietly to the designated Safe Assembly Areas. 19 POLICY The Australian Turf Club is committed to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) across all our venues and endeavours to comply at all times with all the requirements of the NSW Liquor Act 2007. The Club is an active member of a number of Local Liquor Accords including the Eastern Beaches Liquor Accord and also the Rosehill and Liverpool Liquor Accords. The Australian Turf Club has adopted the following House Policy, which provides a framework for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION Patrons who are intoxicated or approaching intoxication will be refused admission to our venues. Patrons who are observed drinking upon approach to one of our venues will be refused entry. Appropriate and compliant signage will be displayed at all entry points. Patrons on board “Party Buses’, Limousines or Hire Cars with alcohol present will have their intoxication levels assessed by Security and risk refusal of entry to the venue. Any patron refused service by bar staff or identified by Security as approaching intoxication will be asked to leave the venue immediately as per Section 77 of the NSW Liquor Act 2007 UNDER AGE DRINKING The Australian Turf Club recognises the following fonns of identification: • A driver’s or rider’s licence or permit (issued by an Australian State or Territory or any foreign country) • Australian passport or a foreign passport issued by another country, • NSW photo card (issued by Roads and Maritime Services NSW) • Proof of age card issued by a public authority of the Commonwealth or of another State or Territory for the purpose of attesting to a person’s identity and age • Keypass (over-18) identity card issued by Australia Post. Patrons who appear to be aged 25 years or under may be asked for identification at any time by Security, Police or an ATC staff member. If identification is unable to, or refused to be produced that patron will be asked to leave the venue. Any minor found in close proximity to or using alcohol or gaming outlets will be asked to leave the venue. The person identified as being responsible for the minor (as per the NSW Liquor Act 2007 in relation to Responsible Adults) will also be asked to leave the venue. ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR Any patron found to be disrupting the quiet enjoyment of other patrons around them by means of their actions or behaviour will be asked to leave the venue. TRAINING AND PROMOTIONS All staff have been informed about their obligations in relation to this policy on Responsible Service of Alcohol and have been adequately trained to support this policy. 20 (1) At a race meeting within the metropolitan area, a bookmaker is obliged to lay the odds displayed if demanded by the backer, except that the bookmaker is not compelled to lose on any one bet more than the amount Racing NSW may determine and publish as the minimum bet list entttled “Betting limits for on-course Bookmakers to comply with BR13”, as published on tts webstte and amended from time to time. (2) When the backer claims the bookmaker for a win and place bet which is greater than the limits prescribed by this rule, the bookmaker must bet the backer the proportional equivalent of an each-way wager. (3) At a race meeting outside the metropolitan area or at an audttorium or betting office, the committee of a club may from time to time determine the minimum wager which bookmakers must be bound to lay when betting on any part of the club’s premises. (4) Once a race has started, a bookmaker is not compelled to accept any bet or, alternatively, is not compelled to bet the minimum limits prescribed in this rule. 21 Children are welcome at all race meetings held at Royal Randwick, Rosehill Gardens, Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm. On many weekend race meetings there is free children’s entertainment available. Children in the general admission area should be under the company of a responsible adult at all times. Children entering the Members’ Enclosure must be in the company of a responsible adult at all times and must be suitably attired. There are no restricted areas within the racecourse (except for ‘Members’ Only Areas’) however patrons under the age of 18 years of age (minors) are not permitted entry to the racecourse unless accompanied by their Legal Guardian or Loco Parentis. (Responsible adult). This can be in the form of: • A parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor • A person who is, for time being, in loco parentis to the minor. This person must be 25 years of age or older and be able to verify to the satisfaction of the ATC their relationship to the minor Definition of In Loco Parentis. The term “Loco Parentis” describes a relationship similar to that of a parent to a child; specifically it refers to an individual who assumes parental status and responsibilities for another individual, usually a young person, without formally adopting that person. Any minor found in close proximity to or using alcohol or gaming outlets will be asked to leave the venue. The person identified as being responsible for the minor (as per the NSW Liquor Act 2007 in relation to Responsible Adults) will also be asked to leave the venue. Prosecution by the NSW Police is also an option. LIQUoR LICENsING REGULATIoNs sMILE - yoU’RE oN CCTV Members and their guests must observe the Liquor Licensing Regulations in place at the Australian Turf Club. The ATC follows guidelines for the Responsible Service of Alcohol.
