5 Betting Guide The TAB offers over 30 different betting products to suit every type of punter. At the track you call out your bets to an operator at the counter, rather than filling in a betting card. Tell the TAB operator: 1. The location and race number of your bet 2. The bet type you would like 3. The horse number/s you would like to bet on 4. The amount you wish to spend Check your ticket When you place a bet with the TAB you will receive a betting ticket which lists the details of your bet. Place Pick a runner to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd and collect a place dividend (a 3rd place dividend is only paid in races with eight or more runners). Each Way Combines a Win/Place bet. If your selection wins you collect the Win and Place dividend or if your runner finishes 2nd or 3rd you collect the Place dividend only. Quinella You are required to correctly select the two runners that finish 1st and 2nd in any order. Exacta You are required to correctly select the two runners that finish 1st and 2nd in exact order. Duet You are required to correctly select two of the three placegetters in any order. Only available on races with 8 or more runners. Trifecta You are required to correctly select the three runners that finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in exact order or alternatively box your selections to finish in any order. Available in Flexi betting. First 4 You are required to correctly select the four runners that finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in exact order or alternatively box your selections to finish in any order. Available in Flexi betting. Daily Double You are required to correctly select the winners of two nominated races at the same race meeting. Running Double You are required to correctly select the winners of two consecutive races at the same race meeting. Quaddie You are required to pick the winner from four races nominated at the one meeting. Available in Flexi betting. BIG6 The BIG6 requires you to pick the winners of 6 races nominated by the TAB. The races that make up a BIG6 may be at the same race meeting or at different race meetings. If you pick all 6 winners, you win the major dividend, and there is a supplementary dividend for picking five out of six winners. First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria South East representative and Kurnai man Peter Hood was in parliament last weekwatching assembly co-chairsmake an address on the Treaty Authority Bill. The Bill, once passed, will facilitate an agreement signed earlier this month between the government and the First Peoples’ Assembly to establish an independent Treaty umpire. The Treaty Authority will sit outside the usual government bureaucracy and be led entirely by First Nations people. An independent panel will appoint five members to the authority. The Bill passed the lower house and is set to go through the upper house with by-partisan support when parliament resumes in August after the winter break. Bangerang and Wiradjuri Elder Geraldine Atkinson and Nira illim bulluk man of the Taungurung Nation Marcus Stewart addressed the lower house in both English and Aboriginal languages. Mr Hood said it was a “good feeling” to walk into parliament and watch the co-chairs donned in possum skin cloaks make their speeches. “I started thinking about my parents and grandparents who came off the Lake Tyers Mission and then moved to Newborough. Here is their grandson sitting in parliament for thismomentous occasion, it gave me thought on how far we’ve come. I felt lucky and privileged to represent mymob,” theMoeman told The Express. First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria South East representative and Kurnai man Peter Hood was in parliament last weekwatching assembly co-chairsmake an address on the Treaty Authority Bill. The Bill, once passed, will facilitate an agreement signed earlier this month between the government and the First Peoples’ Assembly to establish an independent Treaty umpire. The Treaty Authority will sit outside the usual government bureaucracy and be led entirely by First Nations people. An independent panel will appoint five members to the authority. The Bill passed the lower house and is set to go through the upper house with by-partisan support when parliament resumes in August after the winter break.
