Canterbury Park is the only venue for night racing in Sydney plus hosts over 20 daytime meetings throughout the year. Canterbury Park also boasts one of the best racing surfaces in Australia. To ensure our patrons have a comfortable and enjoyable day here at Canterbury Park, Australian Turf Club provides the following services and facilities: GUEST RELATIONS For any information or enquiries, please visit our Administration Office to the left of the King Street entrance. LOST PROPERTY All lost property is retained at the Administration Office ATM MACHINES Ground Level of the Public Area has an ATM machine for cash withdrawals. An additional ATM is located in the Members’ Reserve adjacent to the escalators. CLOAK ROOM A Cloak Room is located on the ground floor of the Members Reserve and remains open for 30 minutes after the last Sydney race. fIRST AID Located at the rear of the Administration Building at the Western end of the Grandstand. DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS Patrons can only smoke at the ‘designated smoking area’ shown on the below map. Also, for the comfort of guests, we ask that patrons please do not move tables from their designated locations within the bar and dining areas. If we can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact any member of our friendly staff. Near the 700m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at heels. Held up for clear running from the 200m until the 100m when improving into a tight run. Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. Near 200m had to be shifted to the outside of rnrs to continue into clear running. Held up rounding the home turn and near the 300m, when endeavouring to obtain clear running, shifted out and made contact with another rnr, then had some difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance thereafter. Rdr reported after travelling well through the early and middle stages his mnt commenced to hang out from the 500m &, as a consequence, he was unable to fully test it in the home straight, & when out of contention he desisted from riding out final 100m. A post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities. Tnr rep was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding for its racing manners. CANT 17/11/2023 Two Questions (NZ) Raced three wide without cover throughout. Performed below market expectations. Rider could offer no explanation other than mount raced wide throughout and not suited by tight turning track. Post Race Vet no abs. TAT 25/11/2023 La Sagrada From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Rdr reported he anticipated settling in a more forward position, but when the mare began only fairly and failed to show its customary early speed, he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated. NCLE 21/11/2023 Mystic Diva Slow to begin. From outside barrier shifted behind runners early.KENS 01/11/2023 Slipstreaming (NZ) Began awkwardly. Near 250m, when shifting wider, bumped rnr. NCLE 02/12/2023 Egyptologist The gelding, which was unsettled in its barrier stall, bounded as the start was effected and lost ground (3L). Trainer was told that a warning would be recorded against the gelding. Laid out rounding the home turn and again for some distance passing the 200m. GOUL 05/11/2023 Kirikan (NZ) Made the crossing near the 1200m awkwardly. Was held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Passing the 300m, when endeavoring to obtain clear running to the outside . Between the 250m and 200m made contact with another runner on two more occasions when continuing to endeavor to obtain clear running. Passing the 100m was disappointed for a run between runners. Was then shifted to the inside to obtain clear running. CANT 24/11/2023 Mountain Top Shifted out on jumping and made contact. Near the 1200m, when racing close to heels made the crossing awkwardly. CANT 24/11/2023 Race 3 SCHWEPPES HANDICAP 1100M Hokusai Fractious in the barriers. Began awkward. Rider reported when pressured filly failed to handle the heavy track conditions. Vetted, no abs. BRAT 28/05/2023 I Am Famous On jumping shifted out and bumped. At the 1100m bumped and became unbalanced. Rdr reported the filly raced too keenly through the early and middle stages and, as a consequence, was left without a finishing effort. A post-race vet exam, including an endoscopic exam of the upper respiratory tract, revealed a degree of internal exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the horse’s racing performance. RAND 15/07/2023 Thaibeefsalade On jumping was crowded for room between rnrs. Shifted behind runners in early stages from a wide barrier. Held up in the early part of the straight & near the 150m had to be steadied from heels. Approaching the 300m was inconvenienced when it momentarily raced in restricted room. After improving to the inside of heels passing the 50m, then was hampered and had to be steadied approaching the finish line. RHIL 04/11/2023 The Artefact Slow to begin and, shortly after was crowded for room. K GR 05/08/2023 Race 6 TOYOTA FORKLIFTS HANDICAP 1250M Givara Began awkwardly shifted in and made contact. From outside barrier shifted behind runners in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages which made it difficult for its rider to fully test the gelding. RHIL 22/07/2023 Huon On jumping shifted in and made contact with another rnr, and as a consequence, was carried out and made contact. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. CANT 17/11/2023 Karedada COT: Intention to be ridden with cover: settled off pace. When questioned rdr stated that from awkward barrier, he was asked to ride his mnt more conservatively in an endeavour to find cover. He said that in attempting to follow instructions his mnt was left racing wide and without cover in the early stages and when he was not able to obtain cover his mount endured a tough run and this impacted on the gelding’s finishing effort. A post-race vet exam did not reveal any abs. RAND 27/05/2023 Master Showman Shortly after the start was crowded for room between rnrs, both of which shifted ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages. CANT 17/11/2023 Mission Value When questioned Rdr reported after beginning awkwardly he was required to ride the gelding along in the early stages to obtain a prominent position outside the leader. Rdr added the gelding travelled satisfactory through the middle stages, however failed to quicken on the rain affected surface which he attributed to the geldings disappointing performance. A post-race vet exam revealed no significant abnormalities. KENS 23/08/2023 Merry Mac Boy Raced keenly when caught racing wide and without cover throughout the early and middle stages. W FM 22/11/2023 Prince Aurelius Rider stated that the gelding came under heavy pressure prior to straightening and then was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened in the straight. Said in his view failed to run out the 2000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration to the near-hind fetlock. Trainer advised that a vet clearance will be required before permitted to race/barrier trial again. Vet clearance received and passed trial. RAND 24/12/2022

Std after beginning fairly she rode mnt neutral & settled off midfield. Std through mid stages when trailing a rnr, she had anticipated shifting outwards to improve, but mnt had a tendency to lay in so shifted in to a position on rail nearing the home turn. Added when rounding home turn she tried to shift out from behind heels but was prevented from doing so & consequently was held up & unable to fully test mnt until near the 100m. As this was the first occasion, trainer was advised of the provisions of AR79(4). KENS 25/04/2023 Super Raced keenly in early stages when racing in restricted room. Rdr reported in his opinion, mnt may have come to the end of its prep. Stwds will follow up on future race plans for the gelding in days subsequent. 18 EMERGENCY pROCEDURES The safety and comfort of patrons at Australian Turf Club venues is of paramount importance. The Club has developed comprehensive procedures to deal with any unexpected emergency situation that may arise. Our staff are trained in dealing with emergencies and evacuations. Should an emergency situation arise, the alarm system will be heard over three stages: (1) Fire Alarm Bell – (RINGING SOUND). This notifies the Fire Brigade; (2) Alert Alarm – (WHOOP – WHOOP – WHOOP SOUND). This will be heard on each floor to notify Emergency Wardens to stand by and prepare for possible evacuation. (3) Evacuation Alarm – (WHOOP – WHOOP – WHOOP SOUND). This notifies ALL occupants to leave via the nearest safety exit under the supervision of the Emergency Wardens. On hearing the alert alarm, patrons are requested to remain calm and prepare to follow instructions from the Emergency Wardens. Cloak room items will be secured for you to collect after the situation is over. Mobility impaired patrons, including hearing and sight impaired patrons, should make contact with an Emergency Warden as they may need a “buddy” to assist in the evacuation in the evacuation. On hearing the evacuation alarm, the Wardens will usher you to the Safe Assembly Area so it is essential that you follow their instructions. Unless you are instructed otherwise, the Safey Assembly Area are: In the event of an emergency, please remember: (1) Listen carefully to the alarm tones; (2) Follow the directions of the Emergency Wardens; (3) Move quickly and quietly to the designated Safe Assembly Areas. EMERGENCY ASSEMbLY AREA A: The area behind the Main Grandstand bounded by the Administration Offices, the Main Grandstand and the Main Entrance Turnstile Building; and EMERGENCY ASSEMbLY AREA b: The grassed area in front of the Main Grandstand.
19 POLICY The Australian Turf Club is committed to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) across all our venues and endeavours to comply at all times with all the requirements of the NSW Liquor Act 2007. The Club is an active member of a number of Local Liquor Accords including the Eastern Beaches Liquor Accord and also the Rosehill and Liverpool Liquor Accords. The Australian Turf Club has adopted the following House Policy, which provides a framework for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION Patrons who are intoxicated or approaching intoxication will be refused admission to our venues. Patrons who are observed drinking upon approach to one of our venues will be refused entry. Appropriate and compliant signage will be displayed at all entry points. Patrons on board “Party Buses’, Limousines or Hire Cars with alcohol present will have their intoxication levels assessed by Security and risk refusal of entry to the venue. Any patron refused service by bar staff or identified by Security as approaching intoxication will be asked to leave the venue immediately as per Section 77 of the NSW Liquor Act 2007 UNDER AGE DRINKING The Australian Turf Club recognises the following fonns of identification: • A driver’s or rider’s licence or permit (issued by an Australian State or Territory or any foreign country) • Australian passport or a foreign passport issued by another country, • NSW photo card (issued by Roads and Maritime Services NSW) • Proof of age card issued by a public authority of the Commonwealth or of another State or Territory for the purpose of attesting to a person’s identity and age • Keypass (over-18) identity card issued by Australia Post. Patrons who appear to be aged 25 years or under may be asked for identification at any time by Security, Police or an ATC staff member. If identification is unable to, or refused to be produced that patron will be asked to leave the venue. Any minor found in close proximity to or using alcohol or gaming outlets will be asked to leave the venue. The person identified as being responsible for the minor (as per the NSW Liquor Act 2007 in relation to Responsible Adults) will also be asked to leave the venue. ANTI-SOCIAL bEHAVIOUR Any patron found to be disrupting the quiet enjoyment of other patrons around them by means of their actions or behaviour will be asked to leave the venue. TRAINING AND PROMOTIONS All staff have been informed about their obligations in relation to this policy on Responsible Service of Alcohol and have been adequately trained to support this policy. 20 (1) At a race meeting within the metropolitan area, a bookmaker is obliged to lay the odds displayed if demanded by the backer, except that the bookmaker is not compelled to lose on any one bet more than the amount Racing NSW may determine and publish as the minimum bet list entttled “Betting limits for on-course Bookmakers to comply with BR13”, as published on tts webstte and amended from time to time. (2) When the backer claims the bookmaker for a win and place bet which is greater than the limits prescribed by this rule, the bookmaker must bet the backer the proportional equivalent of an each-way wager. (3) At a race meeting outside the metropolitan area or at an audttorium or betting office, the committee of a club may from time to time determine the minimum wager which bookmakers must be bound to lay when betting on any part of the club’s premises. (4) Once a race has started, a bookmaker is not compelled to accept any bet or, alternatively, is not compelled to bet the minimum limits prescribed in this rule. (2) While betting is taking place on the grounds of a racecourse, have turned on or use in any way at any of the following places on the racecourse any portable telephone, radio transmitter , radio transceiver or any other appliance, apparatus, instrument or equipment that is capable of transmitting information: (a) in the mounting enclosure (b) in the scales area (c) in any other area designated by the Stewards Notwithstanding the provisions of this sub- rule an owner present in the mounting yard immediately after the running of a race is permitted to use a mobile phone. 21 Children are welcome at all race meetings held at Royal Randwick, Rosehill Gardens, Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm. On many weekend race meetings there is free children’s entertainment available. Children in the general admission area should be under the company of a responsible adult at all times. Children entering the Members’ Enclosure must be in the company of a responsible adult at all times and must be suitably attired. There are no restricted areas within the racecourse (except for ‘Members’ Only Areas’) however patrons under the age of 18 years of age (minors) are not permitted entry to the racecourse unless accompanied by their Legal Guardian or Loco Parentis. (Responsible adult). This can be in the form of: • A parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor • A person who is, for time being, in loco parentis to the minor. This person must be 25 years of age or older and be able to verify to the satisfaction of the ATC their relationship to the minor Definition of In Loco Parentis. The term “Loco Parentis” describes a relationship similar to that of a parent to a child; specifically it refers to an individual who assumes parental status and responsibilities for another individual, usually a young person, without formally adopting that person. Any minor found in close proximity to or using alcohol or gaming outlets will be asked to leave the venue. The person identified as being responsible for the minor (as per the NSW Liquor Act 2007 in relation to Responsible Adults) will also be asked to leave the venue. Prosecution by the NSW Police is also an option. LIQUOR LICENSING REGULATIONS SMILE - YOU’RE ON CCTV Members and their guests must observe the Liquor Licensing Regulations in place at the Australian Turf Club. The ATC follows guidelines for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. Staff members are instructed not to serve any alcoholic beverages to guests under the age of 18 years, or to guests in a state of intoxication. In addition to any action taken by the NSW Police, disciplinary action will be taken by the Board against Members and/or their guests who are in breach of the Liquor Licensing Regulations applicable to the ATC. Members and their guests must observe the Liquor Licensing Regulations in place at the Australian Turf Club. The ATC follows guidelines for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. Staff members are instructed not to serve any alcoholic beverages to guests under the age of 18 years, or to guests in a state of intoxication. In addition to any action taken by the NSW Police, disciplinary action will be taken by the Board against Members and/or their guests who are in breach of the Liquor Licensing Regulations applicable to the ATC.
